The Art of Prevention Corporation (APC) is a research based risk mitigation and solution driven, social enterprise strategic partner.  Our initiatives:

  • Identify a national need to reduce injury, fatality or minimize psychological trauma.
  • Address problems that reflect ongoing concern to target populations and are sensitive to local demographic needs.
  • Have an immediate short term probability of delivering positive change and a long term potential of maintaining positive change.
  • Represent an area where services are not being provided or adequately provided by the government, NGOs or other nonprofits.
  • Represent cutting edge in their sectors.
  • Are based on the ability to positively change behavior and develop skills.
  • Involve the target population in creating the solution and building community support to reduce risks.

Each initiative must be complementary to existing APC objectives, and help strengthen core activities through diversification.
The Art of Prevention Corporation A Hillsborough County Non Profit
The Art of Prevention Corporation’s (APC’s) programs are developed to educate, train, and mobilize individuals to protect themselves. According to the National Safety Council, each year, preventable injuries send nearly 27 million Americans to hospitals and another 100,000 to early graves at a cost exceeding $600 billion, or $5,700. per household. The return on investment in prevention dollars outweighs that of treatment. A 2008 report by Trust for America’s Health found every dollar invested in prevention saved $5.60, yet, our nation allocated four cents of every health care dollar toward prevention. It is through precautionary measures and health literacy that Americans take control over their lives and cultivate the responsible use of sparse resources.
